The Black Swamp SGMALLET-LG Symphonic Gong Mallet features two playing surfaces that provide hard and soft performance options, as well as expanded color opportunities. Contrasting layers of foam density and felt thickness create two distinct playing surfaces on the mallet. The wider playing surface is the softer side, designed to produce a full sonority at lower dynamics while also adding weight behind a powerful stroke. The narrow playing surface is the harder side, producing a focused attack and enhanced articulation. It is effective for repeated notes and smaller instruments.
