2006 Santana Yellow Custom 22 with shiny 20th anniversary bird inlays!
The body top is a beautiful, slender 10-top figured body with a luxurious feel that is typical of the PRS of the past. The coloring is “Santana Yellow”, one of the most popular PRS colors. The body back and neck are made of mahogany, which is a standard PRS material choice. 22F rosewood fingerboard is decorated with bird inlays to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the company, and the neck shape is “Wide Fat”, which allows you to enjoy the mellow mahogany sound. The neck shape is “Wide Fat”, which allows you to enjoy the mellow mahogany sound, and the “Dragon II” PU is equipped with an alnico magnet, which is a slightly hotter version of the McCarty PU with a vintage tone. The controls are traditional 5-way rotary switches, giving it a PRS-like control feel and look of yesteryear.
The body has wipe scratches, scuffs, dings, and whitish marks. The neck joint, side of the body, back panel, and the outer circumference of the head have some white spots, which is one of the age-related changes characteristic of PRS. There are small whitened dents dotted around the top rotary SW side of the body and the lower part of the body, as well as whitened dents dotted around the lower part of the body side. There are scratches on both body necks, and whitened buckle scratches on the body back. There are small scratches dotted around the periphery of the head. There is a crack on the inside of the rotary switch knob, but it is not a problem for operation. Each piece of hardware is relatively clean, although the plating is deteriorated and there are signs of use.
The neck condition is fine, and the truss rod can be adjusted in the direction to tighten or loosen, and can still be turned and adjusted in the direction to tighten. There are no string marks on the frets and about 70% of the frets are left. Currently, the string height is adjusted at about 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 1.5mm on the 1st string side.
Overall, there are some white spots and PRS-like signs of use, but there are no problems with playability. Depending on how you think about it, the damage is there, so it can be said that this is one that can be used as a tool for gunning without hesitation. This is a Custom 24 with a little bit of a vintage feel to it, and if you are not a McCarty fan, this is one you should definitely give a try.
